Getting There

From Manila

From Manila, there are buses (Jam, Alps, CERES, Dela Rosa) coming from Kamuning, Buendia, Alabang or Pasay terminals to Batangas Pier at P137 – P175 / person.  Estimated travel time is 3 hours from Quezon City.

Fast ferries (SuperCat, OceanJet, FastCat) and Roro ferries (Montenegro, Besta) regularly ply the Batangas Pier – Calapan Pier starting at 4:50 AM.  The fare ranges between P200 – P250/person (+ terminal fee of P30/person).  Estimated travel time is from 1 hour – 1 hour and 15 minutes for the fast ferries; 2 hours – 2.5 hours for the roro.

Another option is to take one of the large motorized boats from Batangas pier via Puerto Galera for P250 / person (+ P30/person terminal fee), then a 1-hour van ride to Calapan City.

From Visayas

Roro ferries are available from Caticlan, Malay, Aklan to either (a) Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, or (b) Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. From Roxas, take a 3-hour van or bus ride to Calapan City.  If coming from Bulalacao, take a 6-hour van or bus ride to Calapan City.

Around Calapan

The main transport around Calapan City is tricycles. Fares from the port to the city are P20/person, and within city proper at P8/person.
